What's Made In America?

Take a second and look at all materials around you.  The computer you are reading this post on, where was it made?  The clothes that you wear, where was it made?  And so on and so on.  With the Presidential election now just days away there has been talk about unemployment and China not being fair with their goods and trade regulations.  My question is who placed China in the position they are in and if they are becoming these big bad "Bad Guys" that both candidates are now making them to be then how do we stop them and get them back in line?  I made this observation while sitting in my foreign policy class:

  • The pencil I'm writing with, MADE IN FRANCE
  • The binder I'm writing in, MADE IN CHINA
And I thought to myself, America has never really done too much for itself.

Colonist came over from England in hope of settling and plowing the new land, but when things got tough they took from the Natives, taking their cultivated land, their resources and food.  Then pushed them off to the corner with a piece of what was once theirs.
Later in history, how about we start these nice big beautiful plantations.  But with so much land, who will do the work, how about we go take thousands of Africans bring them over and make them do the work, once we have to free them let's segregate them and keep them from riches they produced.
And today, this work is so hard and too tedious, let's hire immigrants for less they'll do the work but now there are too many and they're "taking" our jobs.  We should label them illegal and send them back across the border.

America in my opinion is too lazy.  Let's get our hands dirty in the fields, show our farmers more appreciation and reward them for feeding our country.  Let's get in the factories, build more factories and make these products here at home.  The American people are in charge of running America so let's take a stand and do so.
